Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data SEO Bristol collects, why, and what you can do about it. We are the data controller for the information described here. If anything is unclear, email hello@seobristol.agency and we will answer in plain English.

What we collect

• Information you send us through the free audit form: your name, email address, phone number if you choose to give one, your website, your industry, team size and what you want to achieve.
• Information you give us by email, including anything about your business you choose to share.
• If you consent to analytics cookies, anonymous data about which pages were visited and where visitors arrived from. No analytics cookies are set until you accept them.

Why we use it

• To produce your free audit and answer your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver the work. The lawful basis is performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
• To keep records required for tax and accounting. The lawful basis is legal obligation.
• To understand which pages are useful, where you have consented. The lawful basis is consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell data and we do not share it for marketing. We use a small number of processors to run the business: Netlify for hosting and form submissions, an email provider, and accounting software. Each is bound by a data processing agreement. Enquiry data may be stored outside the UK by these providers under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become clients: 12 months, then deleted.
• Client records: for the engagement and six years afterwards, to meet HMRC requirements.
• Analytics data: 14 months, in aggregate form.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@seobristol.agency and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
