Technical SEO Bristol
The fixes that let everything else work
If Google cannot crawl your site, load it quickly on a phone or work out what each page is about, no amount of content or links will move it. Technical SEO is the month-one work that removes those caps, and we fix it rather than hand you a list.
What technical SEO covers
Six areas, checked on every site in month one and re-checked monthly. For how this fits alongside the other five elements, see our breakdown of the elements of SEO.
Crawling and indexing
Can Google find every page that matters, and is it ignoring the ones that do not? Robots rules, sitemaps, canonical tags, orphaned pages and accidental noindex tags. The most common technical fault we find on Bristol sites is a page that was never meant to be hidden.
Speed
Core Web Vitals on a real phone on a 4G connection, not a desktop on office wifi. Images, fonts, scripts and the page builder itself. A slow site caps every other piece of SEO work you pay for.
Mobile rendering
Google indexes the mobile version of your site. If the mobile layout hides text, buries the phone number or breaks the menu, that is the version being judged.
Structured data
Schema markup that tells Google and AI assistants what the page is: a local business, a service, a set of questions, an article. Written to validate, not copied from a plugin.
Site structure
Which pages link to which, how deep the important ones sit, and whether the URL layout makes sense. One service per page, one area per page, and internal links that follow how customers actually search.
Redirects and migrations
Broken links, redirect chains, HTTP to HTTPS, old URLs from a previous site. If you are rebuilding or moving domains, this is the work that stops rankings vanishing on launch day.
How the work goes
-
Crawl the site
A full crawl, the same way Google does it, plus Search Console and speed data from a real handset. We list every fault, ranked by how much it is costing you.
-
Fix, not report
Most agencies send the list. We fix it: redirects, canonicals, sitemap, images, schema, speed. Month one, on your existing site where that is sensible.
-
Rebuild if it is the only answer
Some page-builder sites cannot be made fast. We will say so in the audit, and quote a rebuild from £99 a month rather than charge you to patch something that will not hold.
-
Keep it clean
A monthly re-crawl and a Core Web Vitals check, so new pages, plugins or edits do not quietly undo the work.
What your budget buys each month
Move the slider. Prices are fixed at the level you start on and never rise while you are a client.
What you get, at every level
The work is the same on every plan. What changes with the level is the targeting: one part of Bristol, the whole of Bristol and Bath, or the UK.

Questions about technical SEO
What is technical SEO in plain English?
Making sure Google can find your pages, load them quickly and understand what they are about. It rarely wins rankings on its own, but a slow or unreadable site caps everything else you do.
Is technical SEO a separate service?
No. It is included in every SEO plan from £299 a month, and it is the first thing we do in month one. This page exists so you can see exactly what that covers.
How do I know if my site has technical problems?
Send the form. The free audit checks crawlability, indexing, speed on a real phone, mobile rendering and structured data, and tells you which of them is holding the site back.
Can you fix a WordPress site or does it need rebuilding?
Usually we can fix it. Where a page builder makes the site impossible to get fast, we will say so and quote a rebuild separately. We never recommend a rebuild that a fix would have solved.
How quickly do technical fixes show?
Indexing and crawl fixes are often visible in Search Console within a couple of weeks. Speed and rendering improvements typically show in rankings over 6 to 12 weeks.
Do you handle site migrations?
Yes. Redirect maps, canonical checks, sitemap resubmission and a before-and-after ranking comparison. Migrations are where rankings are most often lost, and most easily kept.
Is there a contract?
Three months to onboard, then 30-day rolling. Fixed price, no annual increase.
