Terms of business

These are the standard terms for retained SEO, content and AI search work. A short written proposal sits alongside them for each client and takes precedence where the two differ. Web design projects are quoted separately.

Price and term

• The monthly fee is fixed at the figure in your proposal for as long as the engagement runs. There is no annual uplift clause.
• The first three months are an onboarding period during which the fee is committed, because most of the setup work happens then.
• After three months the engagement runs on 30 days' notice from either side, in writing.
• Invoices are issued monthly in advance and payable within 14 days.

What you get, and what we need

• The deliverables listed on the relevant service page and in your proposal, at the tier you have chosen.
• A monthly report and a written review from the team doing the work.
• From you: roughly thirty minutes a month for an interview, access to your website, analytics and Google Business Profile, and a decision on each page before it is published.
• If we cannot get access or sign-off, work pauses rather than proceeding on assumptions, and we will tell you in writing.

Ownership

You own everything: the website code, the content we write, the domain, the hosting account, the analytics property and the Google Business Profile. Accounts are created in your name from the outset. On leaving, there is nothing to transfer because nothing was ever held hostage.

What we will not do

• Buy links, buy reviews or write fake reviews.
• Guarantee a specific ranking, a ChatGPT citation or a number of enquiries. Anyone who does is guessing.
• Work for a direct competitor of an existing client in the same Bristol postcode area without telling you first.

Liability

Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. We are not liable for changes made by search engines or AI providers to how they rank or cite websites.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: hello@seobristol.agency.
